I'm new to alumni. How do I register on this site?
Once a graduation application has been submitted and cleared by the Student Records Office, you are officially a WGU Alum.
To register for this site simply click on First Time Login from the top right corner. You will need to enter your WGU Student ID number (all nine digits).
I'm a recent graduate and need information on either a state or national Commencement.

Second, you can call the Student Services call center and ask to speak with Commencement: 1-877-435-7948 ext 3119
Commencement has registration pages and date/time information online as well. Go to their pages for full details.
I forgot my Student ID number...
For this, you'll need to contact the Alumni Relations team. Per the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), graduates must verify personal identity information before we can release their Student ID number.
Email the Alumni Relations team for your Student ID.
How long does it take to receive my diploma after graduating?
WGU Diplomas are mailed to the graduate within 10-15 business days (pending any financial hold on the student account), to the address indicated on the graduation application. If you have not received your diploma within this time period, please contact the Graduation Clearance team in the Student Records Office.
How do I order additional copies of my diploma?
To order a duplicate diploma using a credit or debit card or a web check, please log into your WGU Student Portal, choose the ‘Student Support' tab’ then choose the ‘Financial Services’ link. You will see the option to order and pay for a Duplicate Diploma under financial toolbox > my items to purchase.
How long do I maintain access to my WGU student email account?
WGU alumni maintain access to their WGU email accounts even after graduating. To access your email account, login to the My.WGU student portal, and click on the “Mail” icon in the top right-hand corner. If you are unable to login to the student portal, you can reset your password by going to https://my.wgu.edu and clicking on the "can't access your account?" link. For additional help in accessing the student portal, please contact WGU Technical Support at 1-877-435-7948, option 2 or extension 3103. You may also go to the IT Service Desk.
I need an official WGU transcript.
I just need an unofficial WGU transcript.
- You can access/download your unofficial WGU transcript from within the Student Portal.
- Once logged in, proceed to the “Resources” tab and then select “Access My Unofficial Transcript”.
I’m applying to another university for a graduate or terminal degree program. What should I expect, will they accept my WGU degree?
Need Placement File Service for Education?
Most school districts no longer require university placement files and have an online application process in place that allows applicants to upload their own files. However, WGU offers placement file services to students and graduates from the Teachers College if a school district specifically requests a placement file be sent directly from the applicant’s university. For more information on this service, please visit http://alumni.wgu.edu/universityfile or contact the WGU Records Department at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I need a copy of my 1098-T Tax Form.
- Your 1098-T tax form is available through your Student Portal.
