WGU Ambassadors Club (Chancellor’s Club in some states) members are the university’s best ambassadors, composed of alumni representing all four colleges (IT, Healthcare, Business, and Teaching), who share their experiences about WGU. Ambassadors Club members assist the university in advancing the mission of WGU, they are invited to events designed just for them, and they have the opportunity to network with business leaders and university supporters.
Ambassadors Club members are considered for high-value opportunities including:
- Lobbying on behalf of WGU
- Participating in press events and other public interviews
- Attending conference s and trade events as an ambassador
- Visiting WGU corporate partners
- Plan or attend university-sponsored student and alumni events
Standard Operating Procedure
The public relations manager serves as the lead for the Ambassadors/Chancellor’s Club in the states, and Tabarus Phillips serves as the lead for the Ambassadors Club for national. They coordinate any requests or activities for the members, including sending them WGU clothing and promotional items to wear or give out at events, coordinating dates and times for events, planning locations and activities, managing communication with members, and attending alumni events as appropriate.
Graduates interested in joining the ambassadors club must submit an application, and will then be interviewed. Qualifications we are seeking include experience with public speaking, marketing, recruiting, sales, or public relations. Volunteer and leadership experience are also considerations. We want WGU grads who are enthusiastic and willing to share their WGU story, and who are willing to commit 5-10 hours per month.
