WGU Alumni Scholarship Fund
The Western Governors University Alumni Scholarship Fund was created in February 2007 to provide assistance and the ability to attend college to those who may not be able to afford WGU's already low tuition. The Alumni Scholarship Fund is proud to recognize student academic achievements, involvement in their community and the university, while also supporting students with financial need.



Whom is the Scholarship For? The scholarship is open to students who have shown at least one year of success at WGU.



What Does Your Donation Provide? The entirety of your contribution will go to the scholarship and will help cover the cost of tuition for students at WGU.

WGU Graduate Gives Back—An Inspiring Story Jody Sloan recently contributed $500.00 to award the Ida B. Sloan scholarship, named in honor of his grandmother, to a single parent enrolling at WGU Indiana. The scholarship is the first of its kind and Jody hopes that it will inspire other WGU Indiana alumni to give back. As a WGU Indiana graduate, Jody Sloan knows the impact earning a degree can make. Speaking at his graduation ceremony in 2011, Jody said he was the first in his family to earn a bachelor’s degree and in the true spirit of WGU Indiana, he wanted to go further. Upon completing his MBA at WGU Indiana, Jody received a promotion at Sallie Mae. Now, Jody and his wife Charlotte say they want to pay it forward.
