With over 20 years IT experience, his responsibilities are threat and vulnerability analysis, system design review, system compliance certification, training, and general security advice. Rob holds a Bachelors of Science in IT Security, as well as his Master of Science, Information Security and Assurance.

    White-hat Hackers - Ethical Hacking Labs
    Dan Garfield is a security instructor and his project consists of a set of lab exercises for white-hat hackers. The premise is that the white-hats need to be familiar with black-hat tools. He studied and tested those out in a lab environment so that they know how to better defend against black-hat attacks.

    Jason Franklin: Security Audit
    Jason will be presenting an  auditors evaluation of the security posture of an organization.  The purpose of this exercise was to audit the overall security of the facility, networked hardware and policies/procedures.  The expected outcome was to provide the assed organization a network audit, to obtain a clearer picture of its current security posture and recommend any needed mitigations/solutions.

    Cyber Security Career Pathways
    Cathryn Olds discusses academic requirements at the community college to supply education to many students of all ages for various reasons.  In the department of Computer Information Systems (CIS), many objectives are dependent on whether the student is pursuing a degree to transfer to a four-year college, or simply to receive education to further their career or augment their knowledge in the latest technology within their selected field.
