How long does it take to receive my diploma after graduating?
Diplomas are mailed to the graduate at the address indicated on the graduation application within 10-15 business days of receiving the application, pending any financial hold that may be on a student account. If you have not received your diploma within this time period, please contact the Student Records Office at email@example.com or 1-866-895-9660 ext. 3146.
How long do I maintain access to my WGU student email account?
WGU alumni maintain access to their WGU student email account. To access your email account, please login to the Student Portal, and click on the "Mail" option on the top right hand corner. For help in accessing the student portal, please contact WGU Technical Support at 1-877-435-7948, option 2 or extension 3103.
How do I order an official transcript?
Transcripts may be ordered in the following ways:
1. ONLINE at the Parchment , using a credit card.
2. BY MAIL, by sending a handwritten or typed request to the Student Records Office.
- The handwritten or typed request must include your name and other names used, the last year attended or graduated, social security number, current mailing address, email, and phone number (so we can contact you if there are any problems in processing the request).
- The request must be signed.
- Include the name and address of the recipient if the transcript is to be mailed to someone other than you.
- Make checks or money orders payable to Western Governors University in the amount of $5.
- Mailed transcript requests should be sent along with payment to:

Note: Official transcripts will not be released to anyone whose financial obligations have not been met.
If you are a student receiving Military Tuition Assistance or Veteran Assistance Voc-Rehab benefits, please request a transcript using the Western Governors University Official Transcript Request Form available within the Student Handbook (Student Handbook Article #1072). Please indicate in the payment information section that you are receiving these benefits.

How do I obtain an unofficial transcript?
To access/download your unofficial WGU transcript, please login to the Student Portal . Once logged in, proceed to the "Resources" tab and then select

I’m applying to another university for a graduate or terminal degree program. What should I expect? Will they accept my WGU education?
Please note that each university has its own set of steps and admission requirements for graduate school or terminal program. Candidates for graduate school are examined in different areas: the strength of their application/essay, letters of recommendation, graduate school test scores, and so forth. Additionally, some schools require applicants to have experience in the field, or to have a particular GRE score or GMAT score while others require a combination of both. Generally, most schools require that a student have graduated from an accredited program. Since WGU is regionally and NCATE accredited, the university satisfies the requirement of an accredited program.
