WGU Indiana & WGU Nevada Show their Working Nurses love with Owl-o-Ween Campaign
November 1, 2015: This year, during the Daylight Saving Time switch at 2:00 AM when the clock fell back an hour, all night shift nurses had to work an extra hour during their shift. So in order to show our appreciation for night shift nurses, we created a campaign that showed them we were thinking about them! Since Daylight Saving Time fell on the night of Halloween, we named the event Owl-O-Ween, and celebrated our amazing nursing Night Owls! The Owl-O-Ween packages were filled with brownies or cupcakes, WGU swag, and a special note from WGU thanking our ambassadors for participating in our campaign. The goal was to help our student and alumni night shift nurses at these hospitals get through that extra-long shift while also educating other nurses about WGU. At 2:00 AM when the clocks officially fell back, the Owl-o-Ween gifts were opened and shared. Both WGU Indiana and WGU Nevada participated in the surprise event - it was a hit all around! Participants and event followers used #OwlOWeen to share the event on socially. Just another way that WGU Alumni and Students are celebrated and supported by WGU!
